March 24, 2026

Industry: Healthcare Technology

Scope: Growth from approximately 35 to 300+ employees across Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Sri Lanka

Challenge

Following multiple acquisitions and a period of rapid global growth, this healthcare technology company needed a more scalable HR foundation. The organization required stronger people infrastructure, cross-border compliance, and effective integration of acquired teams to support continued expansion, public-market readiness, and broader operational maturity.

Approach

As a long-term strategic HR partner, TST supported the organization through multiple stages of growth, from early expansion through to a more mature and complex operating model. Key contributions included:

M&A Talent Integration and Culture Alignment

Supported the integration of newly acquired teams through structured employee interviews, employment agreement reviews, and assessments of existing practices to identify alignment opportunities and risk areas. Developed strategic recommendations to harmonize policies, employment terms, and people practices across the organization.

Where workforce changes were required, provided careful and compliant support, including documentation, severance calculations, communication planning, and employee transition support. Worked closely with leadership to promote cultural alignment by identifying differences in values, communication styles, and expectations, and helping shape integration plans that respected legacy cultures while reinforcing a unified organizational direction.

Organizational Design

Developed foundational people infrastructure, including job descriptions, organizational charts, salary structures, and performance management frameworks.

Policy and Program Development

Built and formalized core HR programs and processes, including performance review structures, policy sign-off processes, HR calendars, and authority matrices.

Global Compliance

Aligned HR practices with employment legislation and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including implementation of country-specific safety training and localized practices where needed.

Change Management During COVID-19

Designed remote work and return-to-office plans and supported leadership communication to employees across regions during a period of significant disruption and change.

HR Technology Enablement

Led the end-to-end implementation of an HRIS solution, from vendor selection through rollout, process alignment, and global training for HR stakeholders and employees.

Certification Readiness Support

Supported project planning, contingency planning, documentation, testing, and audit coordination that contributed to a successful certification outcome.

Leadership Transition and Capability Building

Helped establish in-country HR support, while transitioning day-to-day responsibilities through strategic handoff, mentoring, and capability development.

Outcome

The organization gained a more scalable and resilient HR foundation to support ongoing growth. With stronger structures, clearer processes, improved compliance, and better integration across teams and regions, the company was better positioned to scale confidently and sustain long-term success. TST continues to serve as a trusted advisor, providing strategic support as the business evolves.
